Meet Cameron LaVinic Moody - the Founder, Owner and Head Candler of Mood Candles, LLC, a black-owned company that specializes in making unique, hand-crafted, soy wax scented candles that’s known to put its consumers in the best of moods.

 

Born and raised in the small but quaint town of Denmark, South Carolina, Cameron is a class of 2000 graduate of Denmark-Olar High School.  After completing high school, Cameron continued his education by matriculating to Denmark Technical College in Denmark, SC.  He graduated in 2005 with his associate degree In Computer Technology and went on to join the professional workforce.  

 

Cameron has nearly 20 years of combined work experience in Customer Service, Finance, Sales and Technical Support.  He’s worked for a number of Fortune 500 companies, including Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Alltel Wireless (now Verizon) and Sprint (now T-Mobile); as well as other reputable companies, like DHL and Smart Source Technical Solutions.

 

Cameron is no stranger to the entrepreneurial world.  In 2001, he started his first business, CLM Computer Repair.  For 20 years, CLM has provided consulting and contract services to general consumers and small businesses, that includes installing, maintenance and repairing of computer hardware, software systems and other digital equipment; as well as configuring computer networks and implementing security protocols.

 

During the coronavirus pandemic of 2020, Cameron used his business acumen, work experience, education and entrepreneurial experience to pursue yet another passion of his – candle making.  He studied to acquire the necessary knowledge and training to expand his business portfolio by starting his latest venture – Mood Candles.  

 

Mood Candles currently has 8 original scents to enhance your every mood – Calm After The Storm, Lemonhead, Clean Breath, Sleepy Baby, Code Blue, Vacation, Rest and Waterfall.  If you’re feeling sad, there’s a scent to make you happy.  If you’re feeling anxious, there’s a scent to help keep you calm.  If you’re stressed, there’s a scent to help you relax.  Once you light and get a sniff of a Mood Candle, it’ll definitely put you in a better mood.

 

Outside of his career, Cameron is known as a beacon of the Denmark, SC community.  He’s a proud member of Franklin United Methodist Church, where he’s an active leader with both the Men and Youth Ministry.  Cameron also regularly volunteers his time by providing assistance and transportation to members of the senior citizens community in Denmark.  He takes many of the community elders to/from doctor appointments, the pharmacy, grocery shopping, to vote and to visit their family and friends.  Cameron believes in, and encourages others to honor and give back to those individuals who helped pave the way for us today.  

 

Cameron enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with his family & friends.  He has one son, Erique; and is also actively raising his nephew Keithan, and niece Lanstin.
